Over the course of more than three-and-a-half decades Denzel Washington has starred in about 50 films, but "Fences" is a special one for him. First of all, it's only the third time he's taken seat on the director's chair (after 2002s "Antwone Fisher" and "The Great Debaters" from 2007). Then, he knows the material very well, because he played it before. "Fences" is based on a play by August Wilson (who also wrote the sceenplay) written in the early 1980s (when Mr. Washington's carreer was just beginning) which got recognition from both the Pulitzer and the Tony Awards. Two decades later, the play made a successful return to Broadway - starring Washington and Viola Davis, who reprised their roles for the movie adaptation.

How did you like "Fences"? How would you rate the performance of Denzel Washington, both in front of and behind the camera? And what did you think about the other cast members? Just write down your thoughts about the movie as a reply to this posting; it doesn't have to be a 30-page monologue, by the way.
