#1268 Long Shot (2019)
Jonathan Levine seems to be a sucker for romantic comedies. Six years ago, he pratically invented the "Zombie romcom" subgenre with his very special take on "Romeo & Juliet" called "Warm Bodies" (Sneak #0944). Hell, he even put a romantic subplot into his cancer comedy "50/50" (#0901). This time he takes a shot a a political romantic comedy, a mix of "The American President" and "Dave" with a little "She's Out of My League" and "Notting Hill" thrown in for good measure. Oh, and quite a lot of lewd jokes which perfectly fit into the kind of films Seth Rogen usually makes with his pals. But make no mistake: "Long Shot", which was written by veteran sitcom writer Dan Sterling (US version of "The Office", "South Park", and the Rogen/Franco movie "The Interview") and Liz Hannah (Spielberg's "The Post") is at its core an almost classical romantic comedy about a thoroughly mismatched couple. Here's the trailer:
What did you think of "Long Shot" - did you like the leads Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron, did they have chemistry, and did you think their relationship worked? How did you like the politics of the movie, from actor-turned-president Chambers alias Bob Odenkirk, to Andy Serkis as media mogul Parker Wembley, down to Alexander Skarsgård as the canadian prime minister and O'Shea Jackson jr. (Ice Cube's son) as Rogen's best friend Lance? Just write down your thought about the film in a reply to this post - but for the love of god, cover your laptop camera ...

Re: #1268 Long Shot (2019)
So what, we had joy we had fun, we had weasels in the bum - oder so, ich geb ne 2.
