Director Shekhar Kapur ist perhaps best-known for his two films about Queen Elizabeth I. (starring Cate Blanchett) - in fact, he has made just one documentary since #0674 "Elizabeth: The Golden Age", which was shown at our preview in November of 2007(!). This time, he tackles a more contemporary style of film - "What's Love Got to Do With It?" - which features no music by Tina Turner whatsoever - is a mix of culture-clash and romcom elements , which was written by TV producer Jemima Khan as her first movie script. This is the trailer:
And how did you like the film, which starred Lily James as commitment-phobid filmmaker Zoe and Shazad Latif (whose only other role I remember was in "Star Trek: Discovery" seasons 1+2) as her childhood friend Kazim, who decided to go the route of an arranged, no, "assisted" marriage? How did you enjoy the banter, the jokes, the chemistry between the leads - and of course Emma Thompsons turn als Zoe's mom Cath? Please let us know in a reply to this posting.
