"Missing Link" is the fifth movie made by stop-motion animation specialists Laika after "Coraline", "ParaNorman" "The Boxtrolls", and of course "Kubo and the Two Strings" (Sneak #1136). The company was founded by Nike owner Phil Knight and his son Travis (director of #1248 "Bumblebee") , who started as a lead animator there, but has been running the company since 2015 and directed "Kubo" as well. This film, however, was directed by the other central figure at Laika, Chris Butler, wo wrote and co-directed "ParaNorman" and co-wrote "Kubo". "Missing Link" was his project through and through, as he wrote and directed the film alone.
