"The Founder" ist director John Lee Hancock's third movie that was shown at the sneak - not bad for someone who only directed six movies to date, especially considering he also co-wrote #0910 "Snow White and the Huntsman". Like his previous sneak movies "The Blind Side" (#0795) and "Saving Mr. Banks" (#0994), "The Founder" tells a story based on actual events, and like "Mr. Banks", it centers around a very extroverted and egocentric male character - in this case, it's Ray Kroc, the man who turned McDonald's from a little burger shop in California into a world-wide corporate giant, consequences be damned. As the guys at History vs. Hollywood point out, the film is mostly true to the real story of Ray Kroc and the McDonald brothers, though there are some liberties the screenplay by Robert Siegel ("The Westler") has taken, most notably that the brothers didn't have to be coaxed into franchising.
Here's the trailer:
So, what do you think of "The Founder"? How did you like the performances, front and center by Michael Keaton, but also by Nick Offerman and John Carroll Lynch as the McDonalds? Just write down your thoughts about the film as a reply to this post - and do you want fries with that?
